PII/PHI detection


Wambi leverages a language processing tool as part of our AWS suite to detect any personal identifying information (PII) or protected health information (PHI) included in patient Wambis. If a patient includes any PII or PHI in the message they send to their care provider, the identifying information is flagged.


When the corresponding account setting to detect and scrub PII/PHI in patient messages is enabled on a client account, patient messages with identifying information are scrubbed of the information and the message would appear on the Wambi newsfeed and to the recipient like this:
